For over two decades, I have proudly called Oak Cliff my home. My journey began in 2003, when I purchased my first house in Elmwood, and continued in 2006 with the renovation of a historic Lake Cliff Park duplex that my son and I still call home today. These experiences—as a homeowner, a former renter, and a longtime community member—have given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing District 1. As a real estate agent who has focused exclusively on Oak Cliff for 18 years, I have come to truly understand and respect the rich tapestry of our neighborhoods, each with its own vibrant personality, style, and history.
Many of you know me through my work with the Oak Cliff Ladies Club, which I founded nearly a decade ago. Today, our group has grown to over 5,800 members strong. Together, we’ve supported countless local families, raised thousands of dollars for community organizations, and made a meaningful difference in our neighborhoods. My commitment to District 1 also extends to civic engagement. I’ve been appointed by both former and current city council members to serve on two City of Dallas boards—the Historic Commission Task Force and the Fort Worth Avenue TIF—gaining firsthand experience in local government and the policy issues that affect us all.
If elected, I will serve with one goal in mind: to truly represent the interests, values, and aspirations of District 1’s homeowners, renters, families, and businesses. I have no further political ambitions and no outside agendas. I am running to be your voice, ensuring that your concerns guide our priorities as our district continues to grow and thrive.
The rising cost of housing and property taxes is displacing working-class families who have shaped Oak Cliff’s character for generations. At the same time, too much of our affordable housing has been destroyed and replaced by developments that do not reflect our community’s needs. I will advocate for balanced, responsible growth that respects our history while providing attainable housing options and preserving the generational wealth of longtime residents. We must ensure new developments fit our neighborhoods—offering affordability, protecting current homeowners, and honoring the stories of those who came before us.
Safe communities are thriving communities. I will maintain close, consistent communication with Dallas police officers and neighborhood associations to understand emerging crime trends, identify safety concerns, and work together on solutions. Your voice will guide my efforts to ensure that every part of District 1 remains safe, welcoming, and secure.
As District 1 grows more dense, we need the infrastructure to support that growth. From improved sidewalks and lighting to holding developers accountable for any damage they cause to public streets, we must build and maintain a walkable, accessible environment. Enhancing pedestrian connections not only improves quality of life but also supports our local businesses and encourages healthy, sustainable tourism.
I’m committed to open dialogue and honest representation. With no hidden agenda or higher political ambitions, my focus is on you—your neighborhood, your family, and your future. I will actively seek your input, listen to your concerns, and make decisions that reflect the collective will of District 1’s residents. I am here to serve, and your voice is paramount in shaping the policies and priorities that will guide us forward.
